GVPM T&I What We Do

What We Do
Conduct tests, evaluations, assessments, and validate modeling and simulation functions in areas focusing on ground vehicle power and energy systems; tracks and suspensions; and energy storage in order to facilitate technology integration, reduce cost, and increase mobility and available power for ground vehicle systems.
(1) Provide high technical fidelity, test and evaluation of component level, system level, and vehicle level mobility and propulsion systems, which includes:
(a) Fully utilizing propulsion laboratories to conduct engine, transmission, powerpack, vehicle full load cooling and HVAC testing;
(b) Fully utilizing Ground Systems Power and Energy Laboratory (GSPEL) to conduct component and system level testing, including testing capabilities such as vehicle environmental, energy storage, electrical components, thermal systems and controls, fuel cell and fuel reformation, air flow and air filtration;
(2) Providing customers with characterization, evaluation, functional assessments, and testing data and analysis;
(3) Using simulations, virtual prototyping, and the virtual factory concepts early in the development cycle to explore the implications of design alternatives and changes without the costs of producing prototypes and testing; and
(4) Working with GVSC’s Systems Integration and Engineering (SI&E) organization to leverage modeling and simulation as part of the life cycle process.
