Alfred J. Grein currently serves as the Executive Director for Research and Technology Integration for the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Ground Vehicle Systems Center. He manages the science and technology portfolio for manned and unmanned ground systems throughout the U.S. Army.
Mr. Grein held a number of leadership roles across GVSC, including acting Director for GVSC in 2021, Chief of Staff, and Deputy Executive Director for the Center for Systems Integration. He also served as the Associate Director for both the Ground Vehicle Power & Mobility group and the Analytics (Modeling & Simulation) team. Prior to that, Mr. Grein executed responsibilities as a Deputy Associate Director for the center’s Ground Systems Survivability directorate.
Grein served honorably as an active duty Army officer for 22 years. He is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy and earned his Master of Science degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. Prior to retirement from the Army, he served as the Product Manager for Medium Tactical Vehicles. Mr. Grein is also a veteran of Desert Shield/Storm.
